A day at Arbor Preschool involves a lot of play! Mornings include a welcome circle, small group activities and curriculum engagement, child directed play, plenty of outdoor time, and a snack. Lunch and clean-up is followed by a quiet time. Afterward, children further engage with the curriculum and have time to play before settling inside for stories as parents begin to arrive for pickup. We have large and engaging outdoor spaces and, while we are maximizing our time outdoors during the pandemic, outdoor play will always be a core part of our daily routine.

2024-2025 School Year Calendar

Arbor Preschool follows Oakland Unified’s break calendar as closely as possible so that families with siblings enrolled in OUSD have aligned breaks. For summer break, we align with OUSD’s final two weeks of summer break and maintain the same first day of school as OUSD.

As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has- or ever will have- something inside that is unique to all time. It’s our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression.
